About the project
Metavent is a "white label", self-service ticketing platform that allows businesses to directly engage, and re-engage, with the customers who attend their events. I was given the opportunity to build this project from the ground up as a highly scalable, secure, performant web application. Metavent needed many complex features such as Web3 integrations, new smart contracts written in solidity, and a google form like builder widget. The design phase for Metavent was about 1 month as we iterated core features and reviewed product requirements. From there we were able to start developing the MVP and run test scenarios with real users.
Metavent was polished and shipped out to production in about 6 months. I leveraged many tools and frameworks in order to build fast and reliably.
Some of those included: Material UI, Tailwinds CSS, Firebase, Heroku, and NextJS.
Features
Tickets
For tickets I integrated Stripe to allow for easy and fast organizer onboarding, 24/7 anti fraud detection, already built UI components, as well as simple API design. I also added support for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and traditional credit cards. Once tickets were purchased the user will receive an email with a confirmation and a QR code they can use to scan into the event.
NFTs
All ticket purchases also kicked off a new job which minted an NFT on the Polygon blockchain and transferred it to the users wallet which we create for them after signing up.
Also all transactions created a new entry in a Google Sheet which is created on behalf of the organizer and ownership transferred to their preferred email account.
Organizer Dashboard
Organizers have the option to send users text messages, response forms and unique NFTs for all attendees which we called memories. Users can scan in a the door using their QR code in the email.
Organizers have a QR scanner integrated on their dashboard which makes this easy and seamless.
Custom Form Builder Widget
Metavent required a system to notify attendees for re-marketing and feedback purposes. To do this I integrated with Twilio SMS API. This allowed me to send many texts at a time and from one number.
Organizers could also build custom response forms with an intuitive and customizable drag and drop interface. This allowed organizers to get the specific feedback they needed.
Project results
The result of this project was a successful launch of an event in which 100+ users attended. They were able to get on the web app from a QR code scan, purchase a ticket, and scan into the event all within a few minutes.
